Stephanie M. Broughton

Stephanie Broughton

Stephanie M. Broughton was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. In October of 1994, she relocated to Lexington, Kentucky. Ms. Broughton’s commitment to higher education began at Lexington Community College where she majored in Business with a minor in Pre-Law. In 1997, she transferred to Eastern Kentucky University where she later received her Bachelors degree in Paralegal Science. Ms. Broughton was an Eastern Commonwealth Minority Scholarship recipient and a Presidential Transfer Student Scholarship recipient. While a sophomore at Eastern Ms. Broughton delivered a keynote speech at the Fifth Annual Minority Leadership Conference at Paducah Community College.

Ms. Broughton later applied to the University of Kentucky (UK) Graduate School. She completed 12 hours of graduate course work and maintained a G.P.A. of 3.5, while she worked full-time as a litigation paralegal. As she continued her commitment to higher education, she also maintained her commitment as a volunteer.

Since 1997, she volunteered for Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass (JA), a non-profit organization designed to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business and economics to improve the quality of their lives. As a volunteer, she taught middle school and high school students about business, exporting and importing of goods, the economics of staying in school and about how to best prepare for the workforce. She juggled her volunteer work, her job, and the demands of her education. In 2005, Ms. Broughton accepted a position as Administrative Manager and Special Events Coordinator with Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass (JA). Ms. Broughton has always had a passion for JA, especially considering she was a JA student when she was in high school and a volunteer as a professional in the workforce.

In August 2007, Ms. Broughton obtained her Masters in Business Administration.
